Originally released on February 25, 1992, this highly influential debut studio album peaked at number 64 on the Billboard 200 and was certified gold by the RIAA. Loosely affiliated with Native Tongues, the album features production by ATCQ with appearances by Phife Dawg and Dres of Black Sheep. It is highly regarded for its fast-paced, Jamaican-influenced, tongue-twisting lyricism (delivered by Chip-Fu, Moc-Fu, and Poc-Fu) and was one of the first hip-hop records to popularize sampling from kung-fu movies and martial arts culture, foreshadowing the style later made famous by the Wu-Tang Clan.
